4/20/2010 - (WASHINGTON, D.C. - April 20, 2010) Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc., a builder of residential homes nationwide, has agreed today to pay a $1 million civil penalty to resolve alleged Clean Water Act violations at 591 construction sites in 18 states and the District of Columbia, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Justice Department announced today. As part of the settlement, the company will also implement a company-wide stormwater compliance program designed to improve compliance with storm water run-off requirements at existing and future construction sites around the country. 3/23/2010 - (Pocatello, Idaho - March 23, 2010) Automotive & Industrial Distributors has agreed to pay the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency a $38,500 penalty for violations of the Clean Water Act requirements related to the prevention of oil spills. The alleged violations occurred at an oil storage and distribution facility operated by A&I, located at 2806 South Fifth Avenue in Pocatello, Idaho. Full release.
3/23/2010 - (Seattle, Washington - March 22, 2010) Construction site operators at Pump Station 10 in Anchorage, Alaska, have settled a storm water case brought by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for alleged Clean Water Act (CWA) violations. Anchorage Water and Waste Water Utility and Pruhs Construction Company settled the alleged violations by paying a fine of $9,850 and addressing deficiencies at the site. Full release.

3/2/2010 - Pella Corporation Agrees to Perform Environmental Investigation, Cleanup of Manufacturing Facility in Pella, Iowa. Full release.
2/10/2010 - Seattle, Wash. – February 10, 2010 The Environmental Protection Agency has settled with seven firms and individuals accused of violating the Clean Water Act at construction sites in northern Idaho. EPA found the violations during routine inspections last fall in the Sandpoint area. The violations resulted in fines ranging from $8,000 - $14,000. Full release.
1/19/2010 - Seattle, WA - Ocean Protein, LLC has settled with the Environmental Protection Agency agreed to pay a $13,166 penalty for violating the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). The company failed to properly report the storage of Sulfuric Acid at its fish waste processing facility located in Hoquiam, Wash. Full release.
